Tom Wagen's Art

I experimented with some new computer software that enables me to alter, modify and enhance a picture.  The software is called GIMP - this is an example of my experimentation.  I took a picture of a piece of art that I completed in 2016 - it was created from a photo of the back altar at Coventry Cathedral - and composed of strips of colored paper woven into a background of umber paper.  Using GIMP - I enhanced the lines and the experience of the sunlight coming through the stained glass blocks in the back altar.

In early March, I entered an art exhibition competition - I submitted three pieces (the two above were part of that submission) - the black and white one was submitted in the watercolor category and the blue/green block print in the misc category - the judging occurred  the first full week of March - each of these took second place in their respective categories.
