Line Drawing of Habitat 67 (an apartment complex in Montreal)

Image
The first picture is the actual line drawing I did of Habiat 67 - I am not sure what I will do with the original line drawing to modify it (if I do anything at all) - but I decided to see what I could do with the software on my computer to modify and/or enhance the original and the results are below the picture of the original.

Rue Soufflot, Paris (Block Print)

Image
The last 2 prints were triple prints - I used a previous block print of the moon and printed the Paris block print over it twice.

Nocturnal Birds on Japanese Paper

Image
This was a joint project - a friend, Serena, gave me paper she had picked up in Japan - and Don suggested I attempt a print of my nocturnal bird block.

Antelope Island (Pencil Sketch)

Image
When I lived in Utah (1981 - 1983) I would camp on an island in the Great Salt Lake (Antelope Island) - at the camp site, I collect stones along with tree and brush debris which I made into a desk paperweight (gluing the brush to the stone) - I have carried this paperweight with me in all the moves since then - a total of about 8 moves.  Decided to do a pencil sketch of it

Torso (Block Print)

Image
Using the torso variations figure - I decided to cut a block print in the silhouette of that image

Hawaiian Blossom (Watercolor)

Image
My son, Tom, has a friend in San Diego (Alan) who sent me a photo of this Hawaiian Blossom - used that photo as a basis for this picture.

The Print Block Draft (Torso)

Image
After looking at the variations of the torso picture, I decided that it was simple enough to transpose to a block for printing - to eventually cut out and then print with - after transposing the original picture to a block (and before cutting on the block) - I decided to capture the uncut block since the presentation looked so interesting.

Torso Variations

Image
The first picture in this series is the picture I drew using pencil and watercolor pencil - the subsequent pictures are modified versions that I did using software on my smartphone.

Printing on More Absorbent

Image
Don gave me some printing paper that was more absorbent and higher quality - and I used it for the first time this morning to see how it works  - these are intended as gifts for friends (Note that the top one sold before I could give it as a gift)

Block Prints Using Two Separate Cut Blocks

Image
I decided to experiment with separate cut blocks - printing one over the other - in this case the first was the block cut of the sphere (sun or moon) and I printed two versions - one of Ely Cathedral over the sphere and one of Sacre Couer Basilica over the sphere.
