Abstract Oil

This was a fun piece that I did - I had paint left on my palette leftover from the last three oil painting I did - and I had an old canvas that I painted over with of white - I then took my palette and pressed it to the canvas and worked the paint with a palette knife.

 I had decided to do another regular batik - cloth dye on linen - using an acrylic painting that Don had done some time ago - this is the first picture in the series  I drew a preliminary and simplified idea for the batik on plain drawing paper and highlighted the lines with black magic marker  I, then, colored in the draft drawing with watercolor pencil so that I could get some idea about how I would apply the cloth dye to the linen. Then I traced my draft onto the linen, highlighted the lines with black magic marker and painted the cloths dye unto the linen with intentions of then covering the piece in a thin layer of wax to batik it - Don, however, suggested leaving it as it is (as it appears in the framed picture of it - so I decided to hold off an any further work to ponder what if anything I will do with it.
