Medallion with the Chinese letter for Strength


  Made from a pebble found under under our deck. The Chinese image was cut into the stone with a Dremmel.  My son selected the colors and will wear the pendant with his other pendants.

 I had decided to do another regular batik - cloth dye on linen - using an acrylic painting that Don had done some time ago - this is the first picture in the series  I drew a preliminary and simplified idea for the batik on plain drawing paper and highlighted the lines with black magic marker  I, then, colored in the draft drawing with watercolor pencil so that I could get some idea about how I would apply the cloth dye to the linen.
